COVID-19: Senegal records 59 new cases of coronavirus, 19 recoveries

Dakar, Senegal, April 29 (Infosplusgabon) - Senegal's Ministry of Health and Social Action on Wednesday announced 59 new cases of coronavirus and 19 recoveries from the disease.

In its daily update on the epidemiological situation, the ministry said that out of 800 tests conducted, 59 were positive to coronavirus, representing 51 contact cases being treated and 8 cases from community transmission.

In addition, 19 suspected patients tested negative. Two serious cases are being treated at the resuscitation department in Fann and The Principal Hospital.

To date, Senegal has 882 positive cases of COVID-19 on record. They include 315 cured cases, 9 deaths, 1 evacuated and 557 still under treatment.
