President-elect Faure Gnassingbé to be sworn in May 3 in Lomé

Lomé, Togo, April 29 (Infosplusgabon) - Togo's President-elect  Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé will take the oath of office on May 3, the Constitutional Court said in a press release issued in Lomé on Wednesday.

Gnassingbé won the presidential poll taken on 22 February with 70.78% of the ballot.

The swearing-in ceremony will take place in  at the reception hall of the presidency and  will be simple.

According to the Constitutional Court, "taking into account the health situation due to the Covid-19 pandemic, only invited guests will have access to the ceremony hall.

Gabriel Messan Agbéyomé Kodjo who ranked second with 19.45% of the ballot has disputed the results but is against resistance.
