Campaign for Burundi's May 20 general elections begins on Monday

Bujumbura, Burundi, April 25 (Infosplusgabon) - The campaign for Burundi's 20 May general elections will begin on 27 April and end on 17 May, according to a decree issued on Saturday.

The holding of the elections, maintained despite the threats of coronavirus, will focus on the presidential, legislative and municipal elections and will pit a dozen political parties, two coalitions and 18 independents whose candidacies have been endorsed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
