Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, April 25 (Infosplusgabon) - The Federation of Islamic Associations of Burkina Faso (FAIB) invited the Muslim faithful of the country, who started the Ramadan fast this Friday, to make it a month of spiritual response against the coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19).

"On the occasion of this highly spiritual event, the president of the presidium invites the Muslim brothers and sisters to respect the barrier measures and to make this Ramadan a month of spiritual response against the Covid-19 pandemic by redoubling efforts in adoration, invocations, beneficence, solidarity, love and brotherhood," wrote the president of the FAIB, El Hadj Boubacar Yugo.

This year's sacred month of the Muslim religion is taking place in a particular context where, to limit the spread of coronavirus disease, the authorities have ordered the closure of mosques and churches, and limited large gatherings.

With seven new cases confirmed on Thursday, Burkina Faso currently has 616 people who have tested positive, 41 deaths, 410 recoveries and 165 patients on treatment.
