Coronavirus: Pandemic claims 407 lives in Algeria

Algiers, Algeria, April 24 (Infosplusgabon) - The spokesperson of the Scientific Committee to Monitor the Evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic in Algeria, Djamel Fourar, on Thursday announced five new deaths, bringing the total number to 407, while that of recoveries is 1,355.

At the Committee's daily press briefing Mr. Fourar said that 97 new confirmed cases of the virus were recorded during the same period bringing the number to 3,007.

He added that the number of patients on treatment is 5,235 with 28 still in intensive care.

All confirmed cases were recorded in 47 wilayas (regions), he said, adding that the 25-60 years age group represents 54 per cent of cases and that of 60 years and over 37 per cent.
