Gaborone, Botswana, April 20 (Infosplusgabon) - Botswana’s has dropped its petrol, diesel and illuminating paraffin retail prices, influenced by developments on the international oil market.
“International crude oil prices have been going down mainly as a result of reduced global demand concerns driven mainly by slowdown of the world economy,” said Rose Seretse, the Chief Executive Officer of Botswana Energy Regulatory Authority (BERA).
The CEO said the regulator will continue to closely monitor the prices of petroleum products both on the regional and international market.
The retail cost for petrol, diesel and illuminating paraffin has been reduced by 13 thebe (approximately US$0.011), 10 thebe (approximately US$0.0082) and 20 thebe (approximately US$0.016 ) respectively.
Botswana’s last increase in the retail pump prices for petrol diesel and illuminating paraffin was in November 2018.
