Coronavirus: Beninese donate more than 250 million CFAF to virus fight

Cotonou, Benin, April 17 (Infosplusgabon) – The Beninese government has received 250 million CFAF in donations from organisations and individuals to aid the fight against the COVID-19 (coronavirus), official sources said on Sunday in Cotonou.

"More than 250 million CFAF has been received in financial donations and more than 1,000 donations in products, composed of oxygen, gloves, alcohol-based sanitisers, masks, sprays, personal protection equipment and pocket wifi," a statement issued on the website dedicated to updates on COVID-19 fight said. (US$1.00=CFAF 600.00)

To date, Benin has a total of 35 confirmed case, five cured, 29 cases under treatment and one death.

In order to limit the spread of the pandemic, the government is carrying out screening of all those placed in quarantine or in self-isolation.
