Covid-19: Chinese medical mission expected in Burkina Faso

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, April 15 (Infosplusgabon) - Chinese experts and a large batch of materials against the Covid-19 are expected on Thursday in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, to strengthen the fight against the coronavirus, the Chinese Embassy in Burkina Faso has said in a press release.

 

"It is a team made up of 12 Chinese medical experts. Their mission is to share their expertise and provide practical and technical advice, in order to improve the preventive and curative capacities of the two countries against Covid-19. Before their departure , they have all been tested for Covid-19, the results of which are all negative," the statement said.

 

 

"China and Africa have been good brothers for a long time who have shared common difficulties and challenges for a long time," said the embassy, recalling that "at a time when the situation in China against the Covid-19 was most dire difficult, African countries have provided precious support that we always remember."

 

 

"China pays particular attention to efforts to prevent and control epidemics in Africa. The Chinese people, by overcoming all kinds of difficulties, have provided concrete and solid material support to the African Union and to all friendly African countries," said the press release.

 

 

According to the embassy, ​​the experts on both sides have already started several video exchanges to jointly develop and perfect a response plan against the Covid-19.

 

 

"Many provinces, cities, businesses and private organizations in China also provide unwavering support to our African friends," the statement said.

 

 

"This shows exemplary solidarity in the community of Sino-African destiny. China is committed to strengthening its cooperation with African countries and to work in synergy with them to collectively achieve the final victory against the Covid-19 pandemic."

 

 

 

A total of 528 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed with 177 cures, 30 deaths and 321 still under treatment in Burkina Faso since 9 March 2020.
